TEMPORARY WORKS SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE
Control every temporary works item, from design brief to strike.
TW Assure gives principal contractors, temporary works coordinators and site teams one record for registers, appointments, permits and inspections, structured around the BS 5975-1:2024 process.
Already using TW Assure?
TW Assure is in its pilot phase. Sites using it work with us under a pilot agreement.
The demo runs in your browser with sample data.
Why TW AssureFewer gaps, audit-ready records, the right person signing each step.
Helps reduce temporary works incidents
Loading and striking only go ahead once the required checks are signed off, so gaps are caught before they reach the works.
Audit-ready records
Registers, briefs, appointments, permits and inspections in one place, ready to show a client, insurer or the HSE.
The right person signs the right step
Each step can only be signed by the role that owns it, with in-date competence, and only once the previous step is complete.
Live permit status on site
Scan the tag on any item to see whether it is cleared for use, and report a fault on the spot.
How it worksSet up, register, inspect and permit, then close out – four steps.
- 1
Set up the project
Add the site, load your TW procedure and appoint the TWC and TWS in writing.
- 2
Register each item
Log each temporary works item with its category, design brief, designer and checker.
- 3
Inspect and permit
Record pre-load and pre-strike inspections and issue permits to load and strike from the same record.
- 4
Monitor and close out
Track live status and weather risk until the item is struck.
FeaturesPermits, briefs, appointments, QR tags, weather warnings and a locked history.
Structured around the BS 5975-1:2024 process
Brief, category, design, check, permit to load and permit to strike, in order, each signed by the responsible role under your procedure.
Permits to load and strike
A permit can't be issued while a fault is open, after a failed inspection, or without a passed pre-load check from the last 24 hours. A fault report or failed inspection suspends the live permit straight away and alerts the TWC and TWS. Overdue inspections are flagged on the dashboard.
Design briefs
Write the brief once against the item, so the designer, checker and TWC work from the same information.
Appointments and competence
The DI appoints the TWC and TWS in writing, with competence and expiry dates. Expired competence means view-only access.
QR tags with live status
Anyone on site can scan a tag to see current status and report a fault, which suspends the permit and stops use until it is cleared.
Weather warnings
Wind and rain forecasts for the site, flagged against the temporary works items they affect.
Tamper-evident audit log
In the live service, every change is logged on our server with who, what role and when. Users can't edit or delete the log, and each entry is chained so changes can be detected. (The demo keeps its log in your browser only.)
Works offline
Keeps working when signal drops. Changes are saved on the phone and checked by the server when you're back online. You need a connection to sign in.
Trust and complianceSupports your competent people – it does not replace them.
TW Assure does not make temporary works decisions. You still need a competent DI, TWC, TWS, designer and checker, and your own TW procedure. The platform helps your team follow it and keeps the evidence.
BS 5975-1:2024 is a British Standard published by BSI. TW Assure is not affiliated with or endorsed by BSI.
